When I first met Jeannette Puttick, owner of Xtendbarre Edmonton, I was in awe of her dedication to fitness and how wonderful she is. Not only is she a business owner, but she's a mother of three children, she teaches classes and she is a huge community advocate. It's hard not to fall in love with her and all the she stands for.
To say I was shocked when she extended me the invitation to become a brand ambassador is an understatement! Truthfully, I've never been a dedicated fitness gal and my idea of working out is carrying the laundry basket up the stairs. I was incredibly honored by this generous offer so I accepted. I can tell you now that I am so happy I did. I have not only embraced barre and being part of the Xtend community, but I now crave that time for myself and my body.
When you are busy, as we all are, it's so hard to create space for things that slow us down or bring us peace. I've always thought that adding any form of exercise to my already crazy routine would be just another thing that "had to get done". Going to classes at Xtend doesn't feel like a chore to me, like I thought fitness would.
Since starting barre, I have become stronger, had more energy, felt better about myself and met so many incredible people. I absolutely adore all of the instructors and their different styles and personalities. Although I am not the most coordinated or flexible person, I have never felt out of place or struggled with a class. Each class has a different vibe and once you get started, you don't remember how uncoordinated you are because you are having too much fun.
As a brand ambassador I have been fortunate enough to attend many classes and now I try and fit it in at least 3 times a day. I feel dedicated to it. Not only because I enjoy it so much but because I owe it to myself. I work hard, really hard and this is one thing that is mine. No husband. No kids. No phone. Just me and my body for one hour.
Want to join me for a class??? Book a class online using the Xtendbarre app, the mind body app or call the studio and use the code JillXtend and the class is on me. I promise you won't regret it:)
